It is most likely a license issue

Recently I stumbled upon an issue that no questions to any AI was able to solve for me.

I was in the process of enrolling devices in inTune after uploading HWID to Autopilot and creating a Deployment profile.

The main issue I was investigating was a compliance issue with the device which took me to realise that the MDM was showing as O365 instead of the usual inTune MDM.

A few attempts later and back and forth questions to Copilot,after investigating deployment profiles, Autopilot profile, and doing a few wipes of the laptop the MDM profile would not change to the right one.

The main culpript? The wrong license was assigned to the user. Why? Because when assigning the licenses, and only looking at the last number i.e. E3 for a split second I assumed it would include inTune capabilities, however the Office 365 E3 license does not include inTune capabilities.

After replacing the Office 365 E3 license and using a Microsoft 365 E3 license the issue was solved.
